Raquel King is an author, speech-language pathologist, encourager and mother. As a child, Raquel  always exemplified a passion for assisting people to feel loved and appreciated.  It is no wonder that she attained her masters of science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and has worked with thousands of children to provide communication services to help them feel free and accepted in and outside of the school system. Additionally, Raquel is the author of “The Loss of My Wedding Ring,” where she provides encouragement and strategies for the divorced to feel free and loved. 

Raquel is the type of friend who will stay in touch with you even though she hasn’t seen you in months. She’s the type of friend who will send weekly encouragements, be honest, start a book club based on encouraging books, send a sweet birthday card when you think no one remembers you. She’s the type of friend who will send audio messages of prayers, spend one on one time with you, create poems of encouragements, love you through your ups and downs, listen to you, cry with you, pray on the spot with you, ask you deep questions, share resources and surprise you with unique gifts.

Raquel was recently crowned Ms.FloridaPlusAmerica2022 in the

Miss Plus America Pageant which empowers women to create

space for their passions and "celebrate the essence of a full figured woman." In 2023, she was crowned Ms.FloridaPlusAmerica Lifetime Queen 2023.

As Ms.FloridaPlusAmerica Lifetime Queen 2023, 

Raquel’s platform is  mental health awareness. She uses the platform to assist people in persevering through life’s challenges.

 Her emphases is on creating spaces for people to express themselves, and create positive changes so that a mental breakdown is never an option.

When she is not working as an SLP or writing, you may

find Raquel leaving a legacy of encouragements, nurturing her son, as well as creating a safe space for those around her. Raquel believes that

everyone has a gift on the inside, and it is her job to make it

come alive.
